“Most of the dandelions had changed from suns into moons.” (Vladimir Nabokov)

An old lady bought from market half raw strawberries.
The young woman stumbled on the sidewalk and fell.
A boy laughed madly on the swing. The ferries
Left earlier as the hour changed that day. In a shell,
A girl hid a letter scribbled for a later self. To tame
A lioness, the young man tried. On far skerries,
He lost his fate’s compass while she murmured a spell
To keep sick love at bay and her mind sane, but failed.
An old sir walked elegantly in park with a golden cane.
